Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book an appointment?
We highly recommend joining our mailing list for direct-to-client information about our book openings. To join our mailing list please fill out the form HERE
All artists at Neon Tiger schedule their own tattoo appointments via email submissions. This means that when any of the artists books are open (more on that below) the artist will review emails with the required information and select those ideas that are most suited for their style*
Inspiration and styling are very important factors when creating one of a kind custom tattoo, and as such some ideas may not fall into a specific artists area of expertise or desire at the time.
*We encourage everyone to follow the artist(s) instagram account(s), and take a look at our current body of tattoo work on this website to get an idea of what we each enjoy doing. Listed on each artists gallery page you will find a brief description of the styles they specialize in.
How do I know when or if the artists books are open?
The availability of each artists schedule is listed in the Artists & Appts section of this website, as well as on the about section on their corresponding Instagram accounts.
We suggest following the artist instagrams as well as our shop’s instagram @NEONTIGERTATTOOS and we recommend that you turn post notifications on for our posts, reels, and stories to ensure that you’ll be notified.
In addition, we highly recommend joining Neon Tiger’s mailing list for direct-to-client information about our book openings, shop events, and other news for myself and my fellow artists at Neon Tiger. Because instagram can be a bit unreliable with the algorithm and we can’t 100% trust that our posts will reach every client, we wanted to give you all another avenue to be informed directly. To join our mailing list please fill out the form HERE
What are your prices?
The typical base rate at Neon Tiger starts at $200 per hour. Further details concerning the pricing of your project can be discussed with your artist when booking an appointment.
Most of the artists at Neon Tiger will take a $100-$300 deposit in order to schedule tattoo appointments. Deposits are based on size and complexity of the tattoo design.
It’s understandable that budgeting comes into play when investing in something, however we encourage everyone to see a tattoo as just that: an investment.
Tattooing is very much an art form and as we all know, very permanent. Quality work from well educated artists comes at a cost. Be sure to be upfront about what your disposable income is per month to make sure the artist can work with your ideas and space out your sessions accordingly.
What are your hours?
Neon Tiger is currently open by appointment 7 days a week.
Does Neon Tiger take walk-ins?
At this time we are not open to any walk-in or drop-in inquiries, however if certain walk-ins become available we do have our mailing list to keep clients informed. You can join HERE
Does you do piercings?
Nope, sorry. But we highly recommend CHIEF PIERCING located in Downtown Sacramento
Are you accepting apprentices or hiring?
We are not accepting apprentices at this time, however we are open to adding experienced artists to our team. If you are interested in working at Neon Tiger please send us an email to cbernhardt.art@gmail.com with your info and we can chat!
What information should I include when submitting my ideas?
Each artist will likely have a preferred list of information to be included when their book open, however as a basic guideline we ask that you please be sure to state the following:
Subject matter - what you would like tattooed
Placement and approximate size of the piece
Any details pertaining to the styling of the piece (color, black and gray, style/look, etc)
Any details that will effect design of the tattoo (it’s a cover up, medical concerns if applicable, etc)
If you have reference material or inspiration photos that you have collected you can send those as well but they are not required
Does Neon Tiger have a waiting list?
No, but we do have our mailing list to keep clients informed about upcoming appts and events. You can join HERE
Can I bring a friend while I get tattooed?
Each artist allows for up to one guest per client, however if you have more friends you’d like to bring please ask your artist before your appointment.
Are kids or pets allowed in the shop?
No children or young adults under the age of 18 are allowed at ANY time. This includes consults, dropping clients off, etc. There is absolutely NO exception. Especially for health and liability reasons.
No pets are allowed via the health department, however service animals are allowed and can be accomodated for.
